Diane Willie--6th/7th Grade Native Literature
Morgan Barraza--7th/8th Grade Native Literature
Morgan Barraza grew up on the Salt River Pima Reservation in Arizona and is also Laguna Pueblo, Apache and Thai. She graduated from Columbia University(B.A) and Harvard University(M.Ed). However, her greatest education has come from her grandparents, ceremonies, adversity, and the diversity of young people and communities she has had the privilege of teaching and learning from. She currently teaches 7th/8th grade Native Lit at NACA. She teaches for justice and seeks to support her students in "reading the world," reclaiming their ancestral knowledge, and discovering their passions and unlimited potential. Similar to her students, she is currently learning her own indigenous languages: O'odham and Keres. Outside of NACA, she loves spending time with her husband and Akita rescue.
