Dear NACA High School Families,
Welcome back! 🎉 It was wonderful to see so many of you at Open House and during the first days of school. Our teachers and staff have been working hard to ensure a strong start to the year, and we are excited for all that lies ahead!
📌 Please review the important updates below.
🚌 Bus Schedules
Bus schedules are attached for your convenience. For High School students, all buses first go to the main campus, from there you will disembark and find the appropriate bus number listed on the schedule.
📱 Cell Phone Expectations
NACA High School continues to strictly enforce our cell phone policy.
✅ Cell phones may only be visible:
- Before 9:15 AM
- During lunch
- After 3:45 PM Monday through Thursday
- After 2:25 PM on Fridays
Thank you for helping us maintain focused learning environments for all students.

📚 School Hours
Classes begin promptly at 9:15 AM.
Students arriving after 9:15 AM must sign in at the front office and will be marked tardy.
🏫 End of Day
- Monday through Thursday: 3:45 PM
- Friday: 2:25 PM
🚗 After-School Expectations
If students are not participating in a NACA-sponsored after-school activity, they must:
- Be picked up or leave campus by 4:00 PM Monday through Thursday
- Leave campus by 3:00 PM on Fridays
🦅 Attendance Matters
Attendance plays a vital role in student success!
✅ Attendance counts for 15% of each course grade.
Please note:
- Missing 15 minutes of class = 1 absence
- 3 tardies = 1 absence
- Students may not be checked out during the last 30 minutes of the school day
- Excessive absences can result in loss of course credit
NACA is an in-person school, and our teachers work hard to create engaging, meaningful learning experiences every day. Being present matters! 💙

☕ The Sun Cat Café is open and considered part of campus. Students may purchase approved items that meet NACA nutrition guidelines.

NACA's nutrition policy remains in effect.
Items that do not comply with the policy will be held in the front office and returned to students after school.
🚗 Student Drivers
Students planning to drive to school must complete required paperwork.
Please stop by the Front Office for registration forms and information.
🛗 Elevator Use
Elevators are reserved for authorized use only.
Students should plan to use the stairs throughout the school day.

Dear NACA High School Families,
Congratulations on completing the first full week of school! It already feels like we never left, and we are beginning to find our rhythm with our returning students, new students, and freshmen who are joining us on campus for the first time.
Please take a moment to review the important updates below.
📒 Agendas
All students have been issued an agenda. Agendas are an important component of Advisory and are integral to student success.
You can expect to see your student's first grade check recorded in their agenda this week. We encourage families to review agendas weekly to monitor academic progress, track goals, and stay informed about important school information.
🚌 Bus Schedules
Bus schedules are attached for your convenience.
For high school students, all buses first arrive at the Main Campus. Students will disembark and locate the appropriate bus number listed on the schedule to continue to the High School campus.
Long Term Bus Change: Bus #237 will now be Bus #734 until further notice.

Volleyball
We are excited to announce that Ms. JoAnn Watuema has been hired as our Varsity Volleyball Head Coach.
Practices begin August 18 at the Albuquerque Rebels Volleyball Club.
Practice Schedule
- Tuesday & Thursday: 5:00 PM-7:00 PM
- Friday: 3:30 PM-5:30 PM
Cross Country
Cross Country practices are currently underway at Netherwood Park.
Practice Schedule
- Monday-Thursday: 4:30 PM-5:45 PM
The first meet is scheduled for August 29 at the ATC Invitational.
Golf
Golf is returning this season for both boys and girls.
Practices will begin on Friday afternoons, with times to be announced.
Athletic Fees & Physicals
- Athletic fees ($50) will be accepted through the end of September.
- All student-athletes must have a current physical on file before participating.

Dear NACA High School Families,
This week we have a lot going on! Dress to impress on Wednesday the 26th for picture day! At high school, we will take pictures in our front office- your advisors should have sent home order forms last week.
11/12 completed NWEA testing last week, and 9/10 will begin NWEA testing this week on Tuesday.
Dual credit started for IAIA last week and will begin for CNM next week; please note that students and families are responsible for their own transportation for dual credit courses.

Agendas
All students have been issued an agenda. Agendas are an important component of Advisory and are integral to student success. Sports Update
Volleyball practices are held at Albuquerque Rebels Volleyball Club. Practice days and times: Tuesday/Thursday 5:00-7:00 and Friday 3:30-5:30. First Game is set for September 1st at To'hajiilee. Volleyball Parent Meet will be on Thursday 8/27 @ 7 pm following practice.
Cross country practice has already started. Practices are held at Netherwood Park
Monday-Thursday from 4:30-5:45. First meet is scheduled for August 29th - ATC Invitational in Santa Fe, NM
We will be having a Parent Meet at CNM in the MPR. Tuesday 8/25 @6pm For Cross-country.
Golf is a go this season for high school students (boys and girls), welcoming all skill levels. Tentative practice schedule is as follows.
Mondays and Wednesdays @ Puerto Del Sol from 4:15-5:45 pm; Fridays TBD
We are accepting $50 athletic fees until the end of Sept.
All students must have physicals before participating.

Picture Day Retakes
Information regarding Picture Day retakes will be shared as soon as details are finalized. Thank you for your patience.
NWEA Testing (Grades 9 & 10)
NWEA testing has been postponed and will begin later this week or early next week. Additional details will be shared with students and families as testing dates are confirmed.
Dual Credit at CNM
Dual credit classes at CNM begin today, August 31.
Please note:
- Some courses may have later start dates.
- Students and families are responsible for arranging their own transportation to and from CNM courses.
