Manuelito's Childhood

When Manuelito was growing up, there were some issues between the Mexicans and Native American tribes in the Southwest. His father-in-law Narbono saw Manuelito as a strong leader. Narbono knew that Manuelito would be a strong leader to watch over his family and protect them. Manuelito didn’t become a chief by leading his people he, got his leadership by his people's honor to him. Sooner or later they named him "Head Chief."
