The Trail Of Tears is the name of the trail that the Cherokee and other tribes took from their homeland to new indian territory. In Cherokee, it is called "Nunna daul Tsuny"  or the Trail Where They Cried. The Trail Of Tears involves five tribes The Cherokee, Choctaw, Chickasaw, Creeks, and the Seminoles. The tribes were known as the Five Civilized tribes. They were forced to give up their homelands in the eastern parts of The United States and move to an area in present day Oklahoma.The main tribe that was involved was the Cherokee. This event occurred in 1838.  There was 15,000 Cherokee that had walked and 4,000 of them died from hunger, disease, and hypothermia. Many of the elders and alot of children also died.
